Personal Experience

Nicola is a highly experienced and supremely organised Criminal litigation manager having worked in Criminal Defence for over 15 years. Nicola is an integral member of the crime team able to manage all types of cases before the Crown Court and able to assist with the following:

• Applications for Legal Aid funding (including advising on complex applications).
• Taking clients’ instructions and witness statements.
• Drafting proofs of evidence and defence case statements.
• Preparing mitigation statements and advising on character references.
• Instructing counsel and expert witnesses.
• Drafting applications e.g. bail and extensions to stage dates.
• Responding to applications such as bad character and special measures.
• Client liaison regarding case progression and court listings.

A qualified ACILEx paralegal, Nicola is currently studying level 6 CILEx to become a Chartered Legal Executive lawyer.
